Oxford Downs looked on course for victory when they amassed 239-6 from their 53 overs after being asked to bat at Twyford in Cherwell League Division 1.

Darryl Woods (57), Phil King (46no), Wasim Mehmood (40) and Justin Cantrell (38) were all in the runs for Downs.

Zawar Hussain took 3-21 for the home side who timed the run chase to perfection, reaching 240-7 with two balls to spare, thanks to Rory Lyon (75) and Dave Powels (54).

Twyford 25pts, Oxford Downs 12

Oxford Downs 2nd went down to a seven-wicket defeat against Banbury 3rd in Division 3.

Ernie Murray (5-32) and James Risbridger (5-53) bowled unchanged as Downs were dismissed for 101.

A final-wicket partnership of 25 between Tom Welch (43no) and Steve Roberts (4) spared the home side’s blushes a little.

Jordan Helps (50) and Will Hawtin (30no) then steered Banbury to 104-3.

Sandford St Martin joined Banbury 3rd on maximum points after thrashing Bletchley Town by six wickets.

Only Alex Stoyles (31) got going in Town’s 110 all out, then Tom Goffe (50) and Grant Phillips-Tebb (31) steered Sandford to 111-4.

Opener Dave Bugge (52) gave Shipton-under-Wych-wood 2nd a decent start after they chose to bat at Great & Little Tew 2nd.

Then Ian Lewis (54no) took the visitors to 214-9.

Lawrence Brock (3-39) was the pick of the home attack.

Tew pulled off an impressive run chase by reaching 215-4 with 15 balls left, thanks in the main to Jack Haggett (58) and Tom Young (54).

Witney Mills slipped to a home defeat to Horley who made it two wins from two in Division 4.

Mike Dove finished unbeaten on 44 in Mills’s below-par 147-9.

Nick Tarrant (66no) and Sam Pearce (44) made light work of the chase as Horley reached 151-4 in the 34th over.

An unbeaten 58 from Paul Tew helped Sandford St Martin 2nd to a five-wicket win at Bletchley Town in Division 7.

Charlie White took 3-11 as Bletchley were restricted to 104-9, before Tew’s half-century steered them to victory at 105-5.

Charlie Miller struck an unbeaten century as Shipton-under-Wychwood 3rd crushed Blewbury & Wallingford 2nd by 198 runs in Division 8.

Miller hit exactly 100, with Josh Knibbs (54) and Jerry Senior 34 as Shipton racked up 278-6.

Blewbury were then skittled for 80 in reply, Robert Seymour taking 6-20.
