It was very much a day for the bowlers in Division 1 of the OCA League on Saturday as a rash of low scores dominated the top flight.

New boys Stonesfield eased to a five-wicket victory at defending champions Cowley Internationals, who suffered the ignominy of a second successive score below 100.

Hosts Cowley were all out for a paltry 73, Ed Oakley leading the way with 5-23 from his 12 overs, six of which were maidens, and Mike Hume also contributing with 4-28.

An undefeated 34 from Tim Wyatt ensured Stonesfield eased home.

Charlbury were unable to cope with the accuracy of Charlie Harper as they went down to a nine-wicket defeat at home to Westbury, who took over at the top of the table as a result.

Harper returned figures of 6-49 from his 12 overs as the home side were shot out for just 86, with Andy Clarke capturing 3-12.

Tom Gurney then scored an unbeaten half-century (52no) to steer Westbury to victory at 87-1.

Chadlington were skittled out for a miserable 44 at home to Minster Lovell.

Elliot Graham took 3-2 and Brian Barrett 3-10, Minster cruising in at 46-1.

The low scores kept coming in Division 2.

Witney Swifts thrashed visitors Broughton & North Newington by 108 runs as they skittled them out for just 72.

Earlier, Jason Seacole had struck an unbeaten 60 to lead Swifts to 180-5.

Robert Godwin (3-17) and Alfie Saunders (3-28) then combined to seal a crushing success.

Chipping Norton eased to a six wicket win at home to Wantage.

Wantage were rolled over for 80, David Brassett (4-31) and Max Green (3-23) among the wickets for Chipping Norton, who then eased to 81-4.

The bowlers also held sway in Division 3.

Patrick Arnold was in fine form as he took 6-43 to see Eynsham to a five-run win at Fringford.

Eynsham had been shot out for just 98, but it proved enough as Arnold’s haul helped to shoot out Fringford for only 93 in reply.

Sean King’s 7-52 proved in vain for Hailey, who lost by 93 runs at home to Marcham in OCA League Division 4.

Hailey restricted the visitors to 151 all out, but then collapsed to 58 all out as Andrew Chalmers took 5-27.

Tom Julian’s unbeaten century helped Swinbrook to a 93-run win away to Deddington.

Julian (111no) saw Swinbrook to 240-5, before veteran Andrew Wingfield Digby took 3-17 and Nigel White 3-44 as the hosts fell to 147 all out.

Andy Oliver top-scored with 97 not out to steer Kidlington to 197-5 at home to Kilkenny.

The target proved way beyond the visitors, who were shot out for 100 as Tom Bozman took 4-15 and Edd Wilmot 4-23.

Stanton Harcourt saw off Dorchester by 49 runs. Batting first, Stanton posted 186-9, Louis Pettifer top-scoring with 44, while Lawrence Belcher took 5-35.

Dorchester were dismissed for 137, Ollie Pascoe taking 4-24. Andy Radcliffe’s 77 led Uffington to a four-wicket victory at home to Britwell Salome.

In Division 5, Sunningwell are the early leaders after they thumped West Witney by 128 runs.

Having posted 185 all out, they skittled their visitors for 57 as Andy Claydon took 4-15.
