ADAM Mayho scored a magnificent century for Witney Mills, but his side could not quite force victory in their Cherwell League Division 4 clash with visitors Kingston Bagpuize on Saturday.

Mayho (102) and skipper Michael Dove shared a 145-run second-wicket partnership, before veteran Malcolm Evans slammed 71 in 60 balls.

Evans’s knock allowed Mills to declare three overs early on 277-6, but they found themselves up against a stubborn Kingston side with the bat.

Toby Ricks hit 90 and youngster Jonathan Warner batted out for 45 balls at the end to deny Mills victory as Kingston closed on 168-8.

Lloyd Brock’s unbeaten century helped Great & Little Tew 2nd to a thrilling four-wicket win at Aston Rowant 2nd in Division 2.

Tim Morgan (89) and Chris Eaton (55) saw Rowant to 256-6 in their 53 overs, off-spinner Kev Taylor taking 3-23.

But Brock’s belligerent 103 not out off only 60 balls, plus a more sedate 80 from opener Matt Clark, helped Tew to 257-6 – the winning runs coming off the penultimate ball of the match.
