MINSTER Lovell wrapped up the OCA League Division 1 title to secure an outstanding treble triumph as they defeated visitors Charlbury in a rain-affected final match of the season on Saturday.

The victory, by six wickets, ensured Minster finished clear of runners-up Faringdon, who had their home clash with Shrivenham washed out by the heavy rain.

It marks the end of a magnificent season for the west Oxfordshire club, who had already won the Tony Pullinger T20 trophy and the Airey Cup.

They have applied to join the Cherwell League for 2017 and will await a decision from the league at the AGM in the autumn.

On Saturday, the match was reduced to 25 overs per side, and Minster restricted Charlbury to 112-9 as spinners Jack Simpson took 4-11 and Eddie Dunn 3-27, Alex Gray hitting 34 for the visitors.

In reply, Minster also struggled with the damp conditions, but reached the target with four wickets down and one over to spare to spark the celebrations.

Radley avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth.

They defeated already-relegated Chipping Norton by five wickets.

Combe secured the Division 7 title as they thrashed visitors Uffington by eight wickets.

Robbie Nicholson took 4-14 and Julian Chaundy 3-14 as Uffington were restricted to just 61-8 in a match reduced to 29 overs per side.

Combe took just 13.1 overs to reach 65-2 to secure 29 points and the title.

Yarnton & Cowley 2nd conceded to second-placed Ducklington, but Combe’s victory meant Ducklington had to settle for the runners-up spot.

Both remaining games in Division 8 were washout out, meaning Sunningwell 2nd were relegated as the five points picked up from an abandoned game with Marcham was not enough to pull out of the drop zone.
