CIARAN Northwood clai-med a six-wicket haul for Stonesfield, but it was all in vain as they fell to a 12-run defeat at home to Radley in OCA League Division 1 on Saturday.

Northwood took 6-58 as Radley were bowled out for 173, Ali Malik hitting 83 and Abdur Rasheed Khan 43.

Khan then claimed 5-45 in Stonesfield’s reply as they fell for 161, Sean Holley hitting 67.

Charlbury secured their second win after seeing off visitors Wolvercote by 85 runs.

Stuart Atkins top-scored with 43 in Charlbury’s 231, Wolvercote tumbling to 146 all out in reply.

Yarnton & Cowley went down by three wickets in a tight game at East & West Hendred.

Yarnton set 184-7 as Zubair Shafique top-scored with 64, while Abubaker Khan made 42.

Charlie Mulford (43no) was the rock in Hendred’s reply as they reached 186-7.

In Division 2, Patrick Arnold’s century helped Eynsham to a convincing 107-run win at home to Chadlington.

Arnold hit 109 and Sam Jones 70 to help Eynsham to 256-5.

This proved way beyond Chadlington, who were bowled out for 149, Mark Weller claiming 5-14. Freddie Magee top-scored with 64 for the visitors.

Chipping Norton were 15-run victors at Marsh Gibbon.

Chippy were all out for 158, Charith Karawita hitting 86 and Carl Needham taking 6-30.

Stuart Leonard (63) led Marsh Gibbon’s reply, but they were dismissed for 143 as Jim McGeown took 5-21.

Witney Swifts cruised to an eight-wicket win at home to Westcott.

After restricting their visitors, for whom Mark Strong hit 69, to 175-7, Swifts eased to 180-2 as Jason Seacole and Josh Grant both finished 51 not out.

Jason Trinder’s 5-12 for Kilkenny was in vain as they lost by 34 runs at new boys Middleton Cheney in Division 3.

Trinder’s haul saw Cheney shot out for 134, but Kilkenny slumped to 100 all out in reply as Sam Hanson followed up his 35 with fine figures of 3-13 in ten overs.

Hanborough edged a thriller at home to west Oxfordshire rivals Stanton Harcourt by one wicket.

The visitors posted 201-9, Chris Pascoe hitting 43 and Ollie Pascoe 42.

Joseph Burgess then top-scored with 71 to steer Hanborough to 207-9 to secure victory.

Russell King and Ben Brown both took 4-32 as Garsington were bowled out for 117, before James Bray (60no) and Andy Oliver (48) led Bampton to 118-2.

Combe crushed visitors Great Horwood 2nd by ten wickets in a one-sided Division 5 clash.

Julian Chaundy (4-12) and Dave Gardner (3-35) combined to dismiss Horwood for 89, before Mark Westerby hit 59 not out to lead Combe to 90-0.

Chipping Norton 2nd were on the receiving end as Himanshu Raval plundered a magnificent 149 not out to help Tetsworth 2nd to a massive 360-9 in Division 6.

Shannon Dyer took 6-89 for Chippy, who were skittled out for just 64 and a 296-run defeat.

Charlbury 2nd beat hosts East & West Hendred 2nd by 13 runs in a thrilling match.

Neil Fox’s 54 helped Charlbury to 206 all out, Pete Beckley taking 4-65.

Hendred were in the hunt, thanks largely to Ian Clewley’s 72. But they were bowled out for 193 as Garry Masters, Max Lucas and Paul Jenkins took three wickets apiece.

In Division 7, Stanton Harcourt 2nd chased down Eynsham 2nd’s 198-8 to win by eight wickets.

Matt Waite took 4-20 for Stanton, while Eynsham’s Roland Margerison hit 69.

But Stanton Harcourt eased home at 203-2 thanks to Jake Souch’s 69 not out and Edwin Apps’s 64 not out.

In Division 8 North, Swinbrook 2nd’s David Myatt hit 102 not out to help his side to a 92-run win at Wolvercote 3rd.
