CHARLBURY took over at the top of Division 1 as they beat Yarnton & Cowley by three wickets in the OCA League.

Batting first, Yarnton posted 236-9, Uzair Ahmed top-scoring with 61 and Bimalka Liyanarachchi taking 3-28.

Liyanarachchi then hit 66 and Josh Hornsby 72 to lead Charlbury to 237-7.

Stonesfield lost by three wickets at Great Horwood.

Haydon Morrison claimed 5-40 in Stonesfield’s 173 all out.

Sam Willett then scored 55 as Horwood reached 174-7.

In Division 2, leaders Witney Swifts edged Chipping Norton by two wickets.

Alfie Saunders took 5-25 as Chippy were all out for 140, Rhys Warner-Carter hitting 52.

Josh Grant (59) and Charlie Fisher (41) starred in Swifts’ reply, before they edged over the line at 143-8.

Marsh Gibbon won a low-scoring affair against Chadlington by six wickets.

The hosts restricted Chadlington to 135-8, before Stuart Leonard struck 68 not out as Marsh Gibbon reached 139-4.

A fine 63 from Matty Gorman led Hanborough to a five-wicket win at home to Kilkenny in Division 3.

The Carterton-based side had posted 198-5, Darren Gordon striking 50.

But Gorman’s knock led Hanborough to victory at 199-5.

Stanton Harcourt thumped hosts Watlington by 121 runs.

Joel Graham (57) led the way in Stanton’s 231-7, and then Matt Waite (4-16) and Ryan Wastie (3-16) combined to dismiss the home side for 110.

A superb century from James Bray helped Bampton to a crushing 122-run victory at Uffington in Division 4.

Bray struck 111 and Edward Landray 85 in Bampton’s 239-4.

An outstanding haul of 6-7 in eight overs from Russell King then sent Uffington tumbling to 117 all out.

Swinbrook lost by five wickets against Marcham.

Youngster Ethan Davie was the pick of the Marcham attack with 4-21 as Swinbrook were bowled out for 152, George Grace hitting 50.

Thomas Mooring’s 80 not out led Marcham to victory as they reached 155-5.

In Division 5, Combe returned to winning ways with a 34-run win at home to Wolvercote 2nd.

Hosts Combe posted 232 all out as Mark Westerby hit 101 and Robbie Nicholson was finally dismissed for the first time this season for 44 – taking his batting average to 489.

Wolvercote made a good fight of their run chase, but fell to 198 all out as Mike Eeley, Dave Gardner and Nicholson took three wickets apiece, while Toby Shelley top-scored with 61.

Leaders Hook Norton brushed aside hosts Ducklington by seven wickets.

Jordan Glazier (4-29) and Richard Knight (4-55) dismissed Ducklington for 128, before Hooky eased in at 129-3.

Hailey & West Witney saw off visitors Steventon by 33 runs.

Batting first, Hailey set 185 all out, Chris Thompson hitting 70 not out and Glen Willett taking 4-5.

Nigel Walker then claimed 4-27 as Steventon fell to 152 all out in reply.

Kilkenny 2nd lost by 141 runs to Division 7 leaders Yarnton & Cowley 2nd.

Deepak Malhotra hit 77 in Yarnton’s 223-8, before Saqib Hussain took 4-6 as Kilkenny were shot out for 82.

Stanton Harcourt 2nd saw off visitors Witney Swifts 2nd by five wickets.

After restricting Swifts to 162-8, Stanton eased to 163-5 as Declan Wastie hit 69 not out.

Josh Evans took 6-14 to help Middleton Cheney 2nd to a ten-wicket win at Stonesfield 2nd.

The hosts were all out for just 46, before Ben Ream (33no) led Middleton home in the eighth over.

In Division 8 North, Charlbury 3rd earned a 13-run win at Westcott 2nd.

Jim Astle top-scored with 48 as Charlbury set 191-8, and then Paul Jenkins returned 4-20 in Westcott’s 178 all out, Gary Ellis top-scoring with 63.

Hanborough beat Watlington by eight wickets in the quarter-final of the Telegraph Cup.

Richard Brown and Martyn Oliver took three wickets apiece to restrict Hanborough to 151-8.

Joseph Burgess (65no) and Matthew Nielsen (62no) steered Watlington to 155-2.
