HANBOROUGH were left heartbroken after losing a dramtic OCA League Telegraph Cup final against Risinghurst on Sunday.

The scores finished level, but the west Oxfordshire side lost more wickets than their rivals and so missed out on glory.

Risinghurst set 144-8 in their 45 overs, Richard Brown taking 3-26.

Aston Leach hit 39 for Hanborough, but with the scores level, Martin Kalyan took the final wicket to seal the cup for Risinghurst.

In Division 1 on Saturday, Stonesfield edged a low-scoring clash at Yarnton & Cowley by two wickets.

Tom Gubbins (3-28) and Ali Malik (3-31) helped dismiss Yarnton for 105, before Adrian Birkett hit 33 in Stonesfield’s 106-8.

Witney Swifts stayed top of Division 2 after a six-wicket win against Chadlington.

Alfie Saunders and Charlie Fisher took three wickets apiece to restrict Chadlington to 116-9, Glenn McCallum hitting 51 not out. Jason Seacole (49no) then steered Swifts home at 120-4.

Eynsham eased to a nine-wicket win against visitors Westcott.

Mark Weller took 5-11 and Roland Margerison 4-42 as the visitors were all out for 102, before Ben Smitten (41no) and Sam Jones (33) then led Eynsham to 103-1.

Charith Karawita’s 109 was in vain for Chipping Norton as Wantage chased down their 234 all out to seal a five-wicket win.

Stanton Harcourt went top of Division 3 after beating Kilkenny by seven wickets after fine bowling performances from Matt Waite (4-5) and Ryan Wastie (3-27).

In Division 4, James Bray struck 90 not out, but second-placed Bampton slipped up at Marcham, who won by two wickets.

The top-two faced off in Division 5 and Combe ran out eight-wicket winners against champions Hook Norton.

Julian Chaundy took 5-23 to help dismiss Hooky for 145, before Robbie Nicholson scored 83 not out to lead Combe to 147-2.

Omer Tariq struck 109 to help Hailey & West Witney to a 106-run win against visitors Wolvercote 2nd.

Ducklington cruised past hosts Radley by eight wickets, Jacob Hughes (86) and Liam Day (70no) in fine form.

There was an eight-wicket haul at Stonesfield 2nd, where Eynsham 2nd’s Stephen Cooper took 8-17 in Division 7.

Eynsham had earlier been bowled out for 122, 13-year-old Rowan Moss taking 3-4.

But Stonesfield then fell to 41 all out as Cooper ran riot.
