ANUPAM Sanklecha has been named Shipton-under-Wychwood’s skipper.
The 35-year-old overseas star takes over the captaincy from Charlie Brain at the Home Counties Premier League outfit.
The announcement means Sanklecha will return to Shipton for a fifth campaign, having broken the club’s record for most league wickets in a season in 2017 with 63.
Charlie Miller will be Sanklecha’s vice-captain.
Shipton are looking to attract new faces ahead of the Division 2 season, due to the loss of a couple of senior players.
Simon Hole has decided to take a break from cricket, and Andrew Hemming cannot commit to the all-day format due to the birth of his child.
Shaun Miller has chosen to step down to the 2nd XI in order to give younger players the opportunity to move up to the first team.
