FORMER Great & Little Tew all-rounder Jack Taylor has been named as Gloucestershire’s vice-captain for the upcoming season.
The 26-year-old was the county’s batsman of the year in 2017 and steps up to the No 2 role for their Specsavers County Championship and Royal London One-Day Cup sides.
He said: “I am delighted and honoured to be asked to be vice-captain under Chris Dent.
“I will offer him my full support when needed and look forward to building something special and help take this team onwards and upwards.
“I’m looking forward to the exciting times ahead.”
Richard Dawson, Gloucestershire’s head coach, said: “Jack Taylor has shown the qualities of a leader over the past few seasons and will work well alongside Chris in the four-day and 50 over competitions.”
Taylor averaged 41.00 in first-class cricket last season.
