DUCKLINGTON paid the penalty for a slow over rate as George Townsend’s century could not prevent them losing at home to Shrivenham in OCA League Division 4.

Townsend scored 111 in the hosts’ 254 all out.

Shrivenham needed 24 off the last three overs, but Ducklington’s slow over rate led to 18 penalty runs being added, reducing the visitors target to six – and they got home at 255-7.

Ducklington also had a bowler removed from the attack for bowling two high no balls.

Sean Holley fell just five runs short of a century as Stonesfield lost by seven runs at home to Wootton & Boars Hill in Division 1.

Holley’s 95 helped Stonesfield to 185 all out, in reply to Wootton’s 192-5.

Witney Swifts lost by three wickets at home to Faringdon.

Swifts were held to 127-7, before Nigel Hume hit 45 in Faringdon’s 130-7.

In Division 2, Stanton Harcourt recorded a 79-run win at Hanborough.

Ben Lucas top-scored with 86 not out in Stanton’s 245-4.

Matthew Neilsen hit 76 in Hanborough’s reply of 165, Andy Walker claiming 4-45 and Ryan Wastie 3-35.

Mark Stanway’s 5-31 led Chipping Norton to a five-wicket win at Wantage, who were dismissed for 112.

Kilkenny cruised to a seven-wicket win away to Dorchester.

Daniel Floyd (51no) and Josh Bishop (48) led the way as the west Oxfordshire side successfully chased down Dorchester’s 136 all out.

Combe won at home to Deddington by five wickets.

The visitors were all out for 137, before Mark Westerby hit 53 to steer Combe home.

Adam Lambert’s 5-25 helped Stonesfield 2nd to a 14-run win at Deddington 2nd in Division 7 North.

Stonesfield had been held to 96-9 in their 45 overs, before Lambert’s five wickets from 12 overs helped to bowl the hosts out for 82.

Hook Norton 2nd saw off Chipping Norton 2nd by five wickets.

Ian Reucassel claimed 5-27 to restrict Chippy to 121-8, Hook Norton then easing to 122-5.

Stanton Harcourt 2nd’s Declan Wastie fell foul of the new no ball law after just one legitimate delivery as his side beat Kidlington 3rd by seven wickets.

Wastie, in his first over of the season, bowled two high full tosses and was removed from the attack as Kidlington posted 164 all out, Razwan Dogar hitting 98 not out.

Wastie made up for this with 49 not out as Stanton eased to victory at 165-3.

In Division 7 South, Bampton 2nd edged past Faringdon 2nd by one wicket in a thrilling clash off the final ball.

Faringdon set 223-3 in their 45 overs, Jonathan Moore top-scoring with 74.

Richard Pitt (82) and Gerald Holford (53no) then saw Bampton home.
