CRICKET: Downs halted by strugglers Rowant

Oxford Downs had to settle for a share of the spoils in a draw against Division 2 strugglers Aston Rowant 2nd.
It was the only game in the Witney area to survive the wet weather.
Paul Plumridge hit 42 and Leigh Lewis struck 38 as Rowant, who have yet to record a victory this season, were bowled out in the 40th over for 157, Steve Roberts finishing with 5-44.
Downs’ reply was held together by first team regular Will Watts (60no), while George Sandbach added 31.
But Tim Foster captured 3-58 to restrict the visitors to 141-5 from 33 overs.
