CRICKET: Stonesfield crushed

Stonesfield failed to cope with the menace of Adam Morton as they crashed out of the Airey Cup semi-finals with a crushing 218-run loss at Westbury on Sunday.

Adam Morton smashed a brilliant 164 as Westbury rattled up 321-5.

George Hilton-Jones then claimed 5-11 as Stonesfield were shot out for 103.

Chadlington bowed out of the Osberton Radiators Cup following a 70-run loss to East & West Hendred 2nd.

Will Bennett (34no) and Archie Napper (31) saw Hendred to 131-6, before George Francis took 5-4 as Chadlington made just 61-9.

Bampton crashed out after a 56-run defeat to Faringdon 2nd.

Richard Marlow’s 51 saw Faringdon post 131-8.

Simon Cornish took 4-24, Marlow 3-9 and Andy Liddiard 3-11 to dismiss Bam-pton for 75.

The Keith Crump Centenary Cup match between Witney Swifts 2nd and Cowley was abandoned and will be replayed next Sunday.

In Division 8, Bampton cruised to a nine-wicket win at Chesterton 2nd.

The match was reduced to 35 overs, and Chesterton struggled to 97-5 as Gerald Holford took 3-5 in seven overs.

In drying conditions, Bam-pton eased home in the 15th over as Nick Pitt hit 50 not out and Richard Pitt 38 not out.
