Proud skipper Andy Harris expressed his immense pride after Great & Little Tew won the championship for the first time.
And next season they are set to take their place in the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League.
Harris, who has been forced to sit out the last few weeks with a shoulder injury, was at Banbury to see stand-in captain Ian Bryan steer them to victory and with it the title.
“It was a brilliant day for the club, although it was a nerve-wracking, said Harris.
“All credit to the guys, they did a really good job.
“One man doesn’t make a team. “We have not had to rely on just one person to make us successful – all the players have chipped in with runs and wickets when needed.
“It has been terrible having to watch from the sidelines, but Ian Bryan who was promoted up from the second team has done a brilliant job.”
He added: “Getting promoted has not really sunk in yet.
“When I took over as captain at the start of last season, my aim was to win the league within three seasons and we’ve done it in two.
“The turning point was when we lost in the Village Knockout to Apperley.
“Everyone was down and devastated and we didn’t want that pain again.
“We knew if we just kept winning we could do it.
“It’s all down to hard work and dedication by the players and all believing in the same aim – to win the title.”
