CRICKET: Minster miss promotion

Minster Lovell missed out on promotion back to Division 1, despite a thumping 132-run victory over Freeland in their final game of the season.

Mick Hanson (57) saw Minster to 192 all out, before Chris Morgan (7-24) helped to dismiss Freeland for only 60.

However, with Letcombe's victory at Watlington, Minster had to settle for third place - an agonising 12 points off promotion.

In Division 3, Eynsham finished the season with an 87-run win over Marsh Gibbon.

Umair Ghazali (89) took Eynsham to 199 all out, then Marsh were shot out for 112.

West Witney were condemned to relegation in Division 4 after they were thrashed by 210 runs at West Ilsley.

Amit Rawal hammered 163 in Ilsley's 306-6, then West were shot out for only 95.

In Division 5, East Oxford 2nd amassed a huge 373-7 as they thrashed Swinbrook by 213 runs.

There were centuries for Amir Butt (126) and Mohammad Nadeem (125).

Cassington took the second promotion spot in Division 6 thanks to a two-wicket win against Wolvercote, while Minster Lovell 3rd failed to muster the five bonus points they required, and are relegated to Division 9.
