WOMEN'S FOOTBALL: Walker's in wars for Tower Hill
4:50pm Wednesday 23rd October 2013 in Football
Tower Hill Ladies’ skipper Leane Walker played through the pain barrier as she helped her side to a 4-2 home win against Chesham Ladies in the Southern Counties Northern Division 1.
Walker suffered an arm injury 20 minutes from time following a goal-saving sliding tackle, but it wasn’t until after the game that she realised she had broken it.
The hosts struggled to retain possession in the first half, and despite going ahead through Charley Hamilton, failed to capitalise on the chances that fell their way.
And they paid the price when the visitors levelled just before the break.
Tower were stunned early in the second half when Chesham took the lead.
But Tower Hill did not let their heads drop and equalised when Emma Proctor headed home.
They then took control with Hamilton scoring her second and Lisa Freeman wrapping it up with their fourth goal.
