Tower Hill Ladies’ promotion mission faltered after a stunning 3-0 defeat at struggling Southampton Ladies in Southern Region Women’s Football League.

The defeat saw Tower Hill slip to fourth in the table, five points behind leaders Milton Keynes City.

The visitors were looking to make it three straight wins to boost their hopes of going up from Northern Division 1.

However, it all went wrong as the bottom of the table side ended their wait for their first victory of the season at the 12th attempt.

It was all over as a contest by half-time as Southampton charged into a 3-0 lead.

Tower Hill created a number of chances in the second half, but they were unable to convert them to complete a miserable trip to the south coast for the visitors.

Tower Hill will be aiming to get back to winning ways when they travel to New Forest Ladies on March 1.

Tower Hill Vixens slipped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Summertown Stars in the Oxford Mail Girls Under 11 League.
