Old Woodstock Town produced the shock result of the day when thrashing Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East leaders Brackley Town Development 5-1 on their own ground.

Dan Bone and Jack Dunmall each scored twice with Dan Sadler adding the other.

Ryan Knight replied for the hosts.

The result moved Old Woodstock up to third place in the table, to close the gap on table-toppers Brackley to four points.

On Saturday, they entertain fifth-placed Finchampstead.

Yarnton Res were comfortable 2-0 winners over Chalgrove Res in Division 2 of the Oxfordshire Senior League.

Goals from Andrew Paine and Stephen Litten did the damage for the hosts.

Paine opened the scoring in the first half.

Chalgrove had the chance to level after the break when they were awarded a penalty.

However, they were cursing their luck when Yarnton goalkeeper Tristan Robson made a brilliant save to claw away Rob Cantwell’s spot-kick.

And the visitors paid a heavy price when Litten sealed victory.

The win saw Yarnton move up a place to seventh.
