Carterton Town A face a nervous wait to secure the Witney & District FA Premier Division title after finishing their season with a comfortable 3-0 win at Hanborough, writes ANTHONY BARLOW.

Two goals from Jason Lonsdale and a third from Wes Christian ensured Carterton extended their lead at the top of the table to nine points.

Second-placed West Witney could equal their points tally if they win their remaining three games, but need to make up an 18-goal deficit in order to retain their crown.

The result also sealed Hanborough’s relegation to Division 1.

Hailey were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Charlbury, with Jack Wood netting for the hosts and Tony Bott for the visitors.

FC Nomads were relegated from Division 1 after letting slip a two-goal advantage to lose 3-2 at Aston.

The visitors were on course to retain their status after Darren Craig and Chris Lawrence put them two goals up.

But Aston struck back through Benji Sunblad, Warren Austin and Matt Smith to consign Nomads to Division 2 football next season.

Combe confirmed their promotion to the Premier Division with a 1-1 draw at home to North Leigh A.

Ryan Maskery netted for the visitors, but Ethan Penney’s goal ensured they picked up the necessary point to secure second place.

Chadlington were beaten 7-0 by champions Bourton Rovers, Adam Webley grabbing a hattrick.

A brace from Connor Teague and efforts from Sam Mattock and Craig Gilson sealed the rout.

Carterton Town B completed their season with a 3-1 win over Ducklington Res.

Adam Harris, Lee Manly and Dan Solis registered for the hosts, while Dan Smith reciprocated for Ducklington.

Relegated FC Mills brought the curtain down on a miserable season with a 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Witney Wanderers.

Gary Atkinson was the chief architect, helping himself to a hat-trick.

Jason Basson was the visitors’ other scorer, with Steve Lyons scoring the consolation for Mills.

Spartan Rangers Res were crowned Division 3 champions with a 4-1 home victory against Bourton Rovers Res.

They won the title, finishing two points clear of secondplaced Ducklington A.

Jamie Stroud scored for the visitors, but a Dave Cross brace and goals from Steve Jenkins and Harry Thompson saw Spartan take the crown.

It took penalties to separate holders West Witney and Brize Norton as their Senior Cup quarterfinal ended in a 3-3 draw after extra time.

Pavel Bronk netted a double and Rob Hook also netted for Premier Division basement boys Brize.

But goals from Dan King, Karl Austin and Chris Hirons saw the title-chasers take the clash to a penalty shootout.

And it was Witney who held their nerve to win through on spot-kicks and secure their place in the semi-finals.

Minster Lovell stormed into the semi-finals with an 8-2 hammering of visiting Ducklington.

Ryan Colleton netted twice for the visitors.

However, it was little consolation as Minster ran riot, with Connor Tinsley, Stephen Burke, and Sebastian White all bagging braces.

Nathan Harris and Cody Davies were also on target for the rampant home side.
