CHEY Dunkley is looking forward to playing without any issues tomorrow after shaking off tonsillitis.

The centre back was under the weather for the fixtures with Luton Town and Bristol Rovers last week.

His condition had improved by midweek, when he scored the opening goal in the 3-2 defeat to Sheffield United.

Dunkley, who is expected to be fine for the trip to Peterborough United tomorrow, shrugged it off as all in a day’s work.

He said: “I’m feeling a lot better now.

“I was suffering with tonsillitis, but you just have to pull through it.

“It’s not just me, a few of the players have had little niggles, it’s just a part of the job and I had to be there for the lads.”

Dunkley’s header against the Blades was his third goal of the season, one behind his tally for the last campaign.

The 25-year-old reckons the haul should be higher, but his main hope at London Road will be on keeping the hosts out at the other end.

He said: “I should have a few more goals this season because I get on the end of a lot of corners.

“But I’ve always said if we can keep clean sheets that’s what we base performances on.”
