CHARLIE Raglan is expected to be out until at least November with the ankle injury he suffered in training last week.

Oxford United initially thought the centre back’s issue was relatively minor, but scans have shown he has ruptured two ligaments.

Raglan, who rejoined the U’s this summer after impressing on loan last season, is scheduled to have an operation next Monday.

U’s assistant head coach Derek Fazackerley said: “It’s not great news, he suffered a similar ankle injury to Christian Ribeiro last year.

“Unfortunately it’s likely to be three to four months before we see him back.

“It’s really sad for him. He was keen to sign for the club after being an excellent member of the squad last season, even though he wasn’t playing on a regular basis.

“He’s done really well in pre-season, but that’s football.

“We will give him all the support we can and hopefully his recovery will be slightly quicker than anticipated.”
