DIDCOT Town boss Andy Ballard is looking for a quick reaction from his side as they travel to the south coast to take on high-flying Wimborne Town in the West Division of the Evo-Stik South League.

The Railwaymen fell to a 2-0 defeat at lowly Mangotsfield last week, but welcome back Stuart Cattell, Sam Barder and Louis Joyce from long-term injuries.

Ballard said: “Last weekend was really disappointing.

“The lads were really deflated after the game, but I told them that one bad performance doesn’t mean we’ve become a bad side.

“We have a chance to bounce back at Wimborne, who are a top side.

“I know it will be a very difficult place to go to, but we know if we produce what we are capable of we can bounce back.”

Callum McNish remains sidelined through injury, while Lewis Hayden and Cameron McNeill are unavailable.

John Brough will just be keen to get back on the field as North Leigh host Swindon Supermarine.

Back-to-back postponements against Yate Town last Saturday and Cirencester in midweek has given the Millers an enforced break.

However, Brough says that has given a few players the opportunity to rest and recuperate from minor knocks and he is able to name a full-strength squad for tomorrow’s clash.

“Everybody is fit and back available,” Brough said.

“It was disappointing to have two games called off after we took four points from two away games.”

Ryan Paddock has recovered from a knee injury and is back in the reckoning tomorrow.

Kidlington host Winchester City.

Thame United make the trip to leaders AFC Rushden & Diamonds on the back of a good run of form which has seen them move up to 12th in the East Division.

Thame were soundly beaten by tomorrow’s opponents earlier in the season.

But West believes his side have found their feet and hopes to give Rushden a competitive game.

He said: “The good thing about playing teams at the top is that you really have nothing to lose.

“Rushden will be under a lot more pressure than us and will be expecting to win.

“That could play into our favour, because sometimes this season when teams come at us, we have been able to open them up a bit as well.

“It will be all about how well we defend, because on the break, we know we are capable of giving them a game.”

West names an unchanged squad from the one that thrashed Fleet Town 4-0 last Saturday, something which he has been able to do a lot so far this season.

“It’s been really nice going into games in a little bit of form with a settled side,” he said.

“The lads have been playing really well lately, and if we stay well organised, I hope we can run Rushden close.”
