Witney Royals secured promotion to the Premier Division for the first time in the club's history with a 4-1 victory over Witney Wanderers in Division 1 on Saturday, writes Anthony Barlow.

Matt Thompson scored twice, with Luke Chadwick and Jamie Kennedy adding the others, while Chris Bennell bagged Wanderers' consolation.

Minster Lovell look favourites to join Royals in the top flight after they saw off Eynsham A 5-2.

Dan Bishop bagged a brace, while Craig Williams, Brad Bryant and Chris Smith were also on target.

Ian Law notched both Eynsham goals.

FC Nomads were relegated after losing 2-0 to Ducklington Res.

Paul Neil and Antony Lune scored Ducklington's goals, which ensured their survival.

FC Mills thrashed Brize Norton Res 7-0 as Ollie Lyon and Rob DeBanks scored twice.

Steve Lyon, Lee Brown and Andy Moriarty were also on target.

The Premier Division title race looks set to go down to the wire as leaders Brize Norton dropped points against North Leigh A in a 2-2 draw.

John Curtis and John Smales scored the goals, but second-half strikes from Dean Treadwell and Kevin Trethowan gave North Leigh a share of the points.

Hailey saw off Bampton Town 2-0 in their penultimate game of the season, Joel King and Ross Fleming on target.

Charlbury Town's Bruce Claridge scored the only goal as they saw off Spartan Rangers 1-0.

AC Finstock maintained their Division 2 promotion charge with a 6-3 victory over West Witney Res.

Dan Claridge and Dean Mays scored hat-tricks, with Alex Vaughan, Tom McLeman and Wayne Forrest replying.

Tackley took a point in their battle against relegation with a 1-1 draw against fellow strugglers Spartan Rangers Res.

Jamie Timms netted for Spartan, with Craig Broome replying.

Freeland Res saw off Wootton Sports 1-0, thanks to a strike from John Williams.

In Division 3, FC Chequers wrapped up the title with a 5-1 victory over Aston Res.

Kevin Davies (2) led the way, with Mark Edmunds, Steve Foster and Simon Moore also on target.

Eddie Brookes bagged Aston's consolation.

Wychwood Forest kept up their push for promotion with a 6-1 victory over Fieldtown.

Chris Read and Simon Gibbs hit doubles, with Olly Bush and Craig Andrews also on target.

Simon King replied for Fieldtown.

Kingham Res were held to a 2-2 draw by Ducklington A.

Sam Philpott and an own goal had given Kingham a 2-0 lead at the break, but second-half strikes from Will Graham and Ben Jackson secured a point for Ducklington.

Minster Lovell Res thrashed FC Mills Res 5-1, thanks to doubles from Richard Williams and Ian Reynolds and a strike from James Barker.

Dan Godden scored Mills's goal.

Division 4 champions Chad Park thrashed Brize Norton A 7-1.

Will Phipps smashed a four-timer, with Tom Drinkwater, Steve Hunt and Josh Vaughan also on target. Matt Jupp bagged a consolation for Brize.

Witney Royals Res beat Freeland A 4-0, thanks to a Mikey Piper hat-trick and a strike from Richard Benham.

Hailey Res beat Chippy Swifts Res 2-1, with goals from Adam Morrison and Dan King.

Southrop Res saw off FC Chequers Res 4-2, thanks to doubles from Shane Imms and Josh Truby.

Dale Cox and Matt Hutton replied.

Mr Barlow...facts are not hard to come by...

Correction 1) Witney Royals have been in the Premier league before, albeit only for the one season.

Correction 2) Richard Baker scored for Witney Royals Res
