FOOTBALL: Brilliant Brize on the brink
Brize Norton have all but clinched the Witney & Distritc FA Premier Division title with a 6-1 thrashing of Hailey on Saturday.
With Freeland having completed their games, only a mathematical miracle will deny Brize the title.
Having lost just twice all season, Brize must lose by ten goals in the final game of the season against mid-table Ducklington if they are to be denied the crown.
John Curtis led the way with a hat-trick and Jez Morgan added a brace.
Richard Taylor completed the scoring, with Chris Townsend replying for Hai- ley.
In Division 1, Witney Royals dished out a 7-2 thrashing to FC Nomads.
Richard Benham and Matt Thompson each scored twice, with Steve Brasier, Tom West and Luke Chadwick scoring the others.
Mark Thomas struck back with a double for Nomads.
Royals were due to go head-to-head with Minster Lovell in a title-decider today.
Bampton Town Res clinched the Division 2 title with a 5-4 victory at home to Combe.
Combe were 3-1 up at half-time through Matt Baker (2) and Simon Baker.
But Town launched a second-half fightback to clinch the crown.
Dan Oyston hit a hat-trick, with Craig Ferguson and Aidan Necchi-Ghiri also on target.
Martin Reeves hit back with a late strike for Combe.
