Millie Hall scored a double as Carterton won 2-1 at near-neighbours Tower Hill in the Oxford Mails Girls League Under 11 Knockout Cup.

Tower Hill dominated the opening exchanges, only to be hit on the break by Hall’s double.

Although Melissa Havord clawed one back from long range, Carterton held on for victory.

Carterton slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Thame in the Under 15 League.

With five minutes to go and the sides locked at 0-0, a draw looked on the cards.

However, Bexx O’Shea lashed home the winner to break Carterton’s hearts.

BARTHOLOMEW School, Eynsham, fly the flag for Oxford United in the npower Football League Under 13 Girls Cup area final at Robert May’s School, Odiham in Hampshire, tomorrow.

They won their way through the local play-offs of the national six-a-side tournament, and will now be hoping to claim a place in the regional final at Milton Keynes. The teams there will battle it out for a spot in the grand final at Wembley Stadium before the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final on April 7.
