GIRLS FOOTBALL: Hunter is Strikers' saviour

Kate Hunter saved two penalties as Stonesfield Strikers beat Summertown Stars 3-2 in an Under 14 Oxford Mail Girls League Knockout Cup penalty shoot-out after the sides were locked at 1-1 at full-time.

Beth Stansfield gave Stonesfield the lead with a calm finish, only for Summ-ertown to levelled through Ella Burt.

Stonesfield’s Milly Booth, Rachel Everett and Courtney Hadland were all successful from the spot, with Issy Rundle and Issy McCallum scoring for Summertown, who also saw Hunter save two kicks.

Jess Cairns scored a second-half equaliser as Stonesfield drew 1-1 at Highworth in the League.

Charlotte Weisinger gave Highworth the lead.

Isabelle Henthorn and Melody Guerin-Ciccone were on target for Tower Hill Reds in a 2-1 success against Barton in the Under 12 League.

Chloe Duckett was the Barton scorer.
