Lewis Brownhill, George Seacole and Mike Duerden scored twice as Carterton stormed to a 6-2 win at Lydney Town in Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 West.

The victory saw them move up to fifth in the table.

Brownhill headed home a right-wing cross from Kris Redford to put the visitors ahead in the fourth minute.

Three minutes into the second half, Duerden doubled their lead when he ran on to a long ball and lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper.

It was 3-0 on 51 minutes when Seacole blocked a clearance which rebounded straight into the net.

A minute later, Duerden completed his brace when he drilled home from 18 yards.

In the 71st minute, substitute James Fleming allowed Brownhill to make it 5-0 with a powerful 18-yard drive.

Carterton wrapped it up on 77 minutes with goal No 6.

Substitute Jamie MacDonagh’s low cross in from the right was met at the near post as Seacole completed his haul.

Lydney replied through Jonathan Kear and a Bailey Hore penalty, but it was too late.
