Ross Lewington scored a late winner as Eynsham edged to a 2-1 victory at Broughton & North Newington in the first round of the Oxfordshire Senior League's President’s Cup.

In a close encounter, Eynsham took the lead in the first half when Craig Johnson headed home from a corner.

However, Broughton got themselves back on level terms midway through the second half when Damien Gourley smashed the ball home from seven yards, following some good work by Kevin Cooper.

It looked as though the tie was heading for extra time until a minute from the end of normal time when up popped Lewington to slide the ball into the far corner to win it for the visitors.

Freeland marched into the next round with a 3-1 victory at home to Easington, thanks to goals from Danny Taylor, Rob Keylock and Tom Hall.

Division 1 side Yarnton bowed out of the competition following a 4-2 home defeat against Premier Division side Oxford University Press.

A hat-trick from Neil Lockhart and a Kyle Moss strike put the visiting side in control, before Stephen Litten and Jamie Smith pulled back two late goals for the hosts.
