Eynsham SSC’s Oxfordshire FA John Fathers Junior Shield second-round tie at home to Witney & District League rivals Carterton Rangers was abandoned in the third minute of stoppage time due to a serious injury.

The visitors were just a minute from a 4-3 victory when Dan Brooks went down with a suspected cruciate knee ligament injury, with the referee eventually calling the game off 20 minutes into a 40-minute wait for an ambulance to arrive.

The hosts had led 3-1 at the break, with John Ayres scoring twice and Matty Walker also on target.

But Rangers hit back and led 4-3 as Ben Pearce struck twice alongside goals from Billy Hales and Lee Keyes, before Brooks’ 93rd-minute injury forced an abandonment.

North Leigh A lost 4-2 at home to Oxford City FA side Union Street for whom Ben Green and John Barrrett netted doubles.

Justin Timms and Ryan Mastery replied for the hosts.

Charlbury beat Banbury outfit Horton 7-1 at home.

Craig McCallum grabbed a hat-trick, with Mark Fitzgerald (2), Shaun Gilbert and Mark Goode also on target.

Rob Watts netted a five-timer as Milton crushed Souldern 6-4.

Watts’s first three goals gave the hosts a 3-0 lead, only for the visitors to level.

Watts added two more after half-time and Leigh Hillary also netted to secure the win.

Witney Wanderers caused an upset by beating high-flying Stonesfield 3-2 after extra-time, with the sides locked at 1-1 at full time.

Daryl John scored twice and Tom Gregory also found the net for the home side, with Chris Jordan and Marcus Albert scoring in vain for Stonesfield.

Simon Gale bagged a brace for Combe, who strolled to a 4-1 win at Bampton United.

Joe Birchall and Chris Betreen sealed it, with Sammy Hancock hitting back for the home side.

Joe Allinson scored a hat-trick as Aston charged to a 4-0 win at Bicester Town Colts. Phil Caswell completed their tally.
