Sean McKeon scored a double to earn Carterton a 2-1 victory at home to New College Swindon in Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 West on Saturday.
The striker opened his account within 60 seconds and completed his double a minute after the break.
Although the visitors replied through an Ollie Oswin own goal the damage was done as the hosts moved up to ninth in the table.
Eighth-placed Clanfield had to be satisfield with a point as they could only draw 1-1 at basement boys Letcombe.
The hosts took the lead in the sixth minute, though there was an element of good fortune.
Calum Pryce’s penalty rebounded back off a post, only for Matt Pill to ram the rebound into the net.
However, Ollie Hawkins equalised in the 69th minute to net a share of the spoils.
In Division 1 East, first-half goals from Murray Nicholls and Rob Keylock earned Old Woodstock Town a 2-0 win at home to Penn & Tylers Green.
The result moved the hosts up to fourth place.
