Tower Hill Ladies fought back from a goal down to win 3-1 at Andover in Southern Women’s League Division 1 North on Sunday.

The comeback win saw the visitors stay in second place, three points behind pacesetters Banbury United.

However, they were rocked on 30 minutes when the fifth-placed hosts took a 1-0 lead, though there was an element of good fortune when Laura Gilbank’s shot deflected off keeper Mel Gilbert to Samantha Voxes, who made no mistake.

Tower Hill maintained their composure and a minute before half-time they were level.

Samantha Bevan-Talbot broke down the wing and crossed the ball into Carly Thomas who calmly put it past Andover’s keeper Ella Howells.

Tower Hill took control after the break and went ahead on 65 minutes.

Katie Wright whipped in a corner which was flicked on by Carly Thomas, for Leanne Walker to head over the line.

And it was all over ten minutes later when Tower Hill netted their third goal.

Wright’s corner curled into the goal, despite Howells getting a hand to it.

Tower Hill are next in action on March 27 when they host Marlow.

Elsewhere, Rachel Appleton scored a hat-trick as Stonesfield Strikers reached the semi-finals of the Oxford Mail Girls League Under 12 League Cup with a 3-0 win at Carterton.

The visitors broke the deadlock ten minutes before half-time when Appleton slotted neatly home.

Appleton doubled their lead after fastening onto a super pass from midfielder Emma Saville, before completing her treble after exchanging passes with Charlotte Warren.

Ciara Thomas's goal was in vain for Carterton in a 3-1 defeat at Wantage Town in the Under 13 League.

The hosts went ahead on two minutes when Izzy Ottley fired in before doubling their lead on 17 minutes through Daisey Grover.

Although Thomas clawed one back from a difficult angle, Ottley’s second goal sealed it for the home side.

Stonesfield Strikers lost 14-0 at Swindon Town in the Under 16 League, Sophie Boycott(4), Kathryn Bach(3), Mia Mugford (2), Alice Telling (2), Meghan Larkin (2) and Briony Hurd on target for the home side.
