HAILEY’S defence of their Witney & District FA Fred Ford Cup title came to an early end as they were dumped out in the second round with a 4-2 home defeat to Bourton Rovers, writes ANTHONY BARLOW.

Mo Semlali and Dan King scored for the hosts, but a double from Adam Webley and goals from Dan Smith and Sam Mattock brought their campaign to an undistinguished close.

Division 3 side Tower Hill Stars stunned Aston, of Division 1, 3-1 away from home.

Kevin Davies bagged a brace, with Craig Mays getting the other. Reece Waine replied for Aston.

Adam Izzard and Dan Hall struck to give Carterton Rangers a 2-0 home win over Hanborough.

Dave Cross smashed in a tremendous double hat-trick as Spartan Rangers blew away Witney Royals 10-0.

The hosts were already trailing 4-0 when they lost keeper Tom Such to a head injury, allowing Rangers to storm to a convincing victory, with Jamie Timms, Josh Grant and Donny Henderson-Sowerby all getting on the scoresheet and an additional own goal completing the rout.

Mike Thompson and Sean Gilbert both grabbed hattricks as Charlbury demolished Brize Norton 8-0, with Craig McCallum and Mark Clements rounding off the scoring.

Eynsham SSC overcame Division 1 rivals Kirtlington 4-3 away from home, thanks to a John Ayres treble and a Charlie Siret strike.

Ross Grey, Nathan Kelly and Toby Smith replied for the hosts.

Penalties were required to separate Wootton and Witney Wanderers after a 3-3 draw.

Graham Berry (2) and Jon Holder scored for the hosts with Andrew Thomson, Bernie Crumlish and Ben Border replying for the visitors, who notched all five spot-kicks to earn a 5-4 win.

Callum Jefferies bagged an amazing seven-goal haul to help move Chadlington Res to the top of Division 4 with a 7-2 win over Eynsham SSC Res.

Darren Mobey and Dan Clifford responded in vain for the home side.
