TOWER Hill Ladies’ Southern Region Women’s League Division 1 title aspirations suffered a blow as they were beaten 5-3 at home to league leaders Chesham United.
Samantha Bevan-Talbot fired the hosts in front early on, but they soon found themselves behind to goals from Sarah Tyas and Vicky Smyth.
Bevan-Talbot was on the spot again to head home Tower’s equaliser and ensure they finished the half level.
Laura Barton won and then converted a penalty to restore Chesham’s lead ten minutes into the second half.
But when Lisa Freeman deftly lobbed the goalkeeper from 25 yards out to equalise, it looked like ending in a draw.
Chesham’s Katie Squire had other ideas, however, bagging a late brace to send Tower Hill to a second league defeat of the season, leaving them six points adrift of the leaders.
