MILTON gave higher-league guests Witney Royals a fright in a thrilling Oxfordshire John Fathers Junior Shield second round tie, before eventually succumbing in extra time.
After 90 minutes the two Witney & District FA sides were locked together at 6-6 before two goals in extra time from the Premier Division outfit ensured they advanced 8-6.
Ryan Colleton and Jamie Kennedy each bagged a hat-trick, with Matt Thompson and Gary Nicholson all registering for Royals.
Steven Pearce scored a hat-trick in response for Division 1 side Milton, with Harry Lake, Rob James and an own goal contributing to their tally.
West Witney eased into the third round with an 8-2 mauling of Wootton, thanks to Mike Duerden’s treble, a brace from Ian Sparkes and goals from George Reynolds, Tony McLeman and Johnny Fletcher.
Graham Berry scored both consolation efforts for the visitors.
Daryl Potter struck a hat-trick in Charlbury Town’s 5-1 win over Brize Norton.

Simon Gale and Callum Surrage goals gave Combe a 2-0 win over Union Street.
Josh Grant scored a brace and Dave Cross was also on target as Spartan Rangers eased to a 3-0 win at Eynsham.
Rob Keylock scored twice alongside goals from Aston Leach, Neil Rose and Joey Burgess to give Hanborough a 5-2 home win over Middle Barton.
Jack Eley and Jack Fowler responded for the visitors.
Kirtlington went down 2-1 at home to Westminster, with Toby Smith’s goal not enough, sandwiched between a pair of Mike Hooton strikes.
