WEST Witney maintained their three-point advantage at the top of the Witney & District FA Premier Division as they held second-placed Carterton Town A to a 1-1 draw, writes ANTHONY BARLOW.

Jack Morton scored for the hosts, but West Witney remain top of the league thanks to Tony McLemen’s leveller.

Hanborough lost more ground on the pacesetters, falling to a heavy 5-0 defeat at Charlbury Town.

Duncan Fitzgerald scored twice, with Mark Fitzgerald, Jack Mahoney and Stefan Lang getting the others.

At the other end of the table, Witney Royals extended their unbeaten run to five games after a comfortable 4-0 win over Chipping Norton Town.

Matt Thompson bagged a brace, with Josh Russell and James O’Sullivan also registering.

Perry Tinson hit a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Ducklington a 2-2 draw at home to Combe.

Luke Woodley had put Ducklington ahead, but Combe substitute Matt Baker looked to have won the game with a quickfire double before Tinson snatched a point at the death for the home side.

Division 1 leaders Kirtlington destroyed basement side Hailey Res 6-1 to maintain their promotion push.

Nathan Kelly scored twice, with Ross Grey, Alex Metcalfe, Toby Smith and Tom Knox all getting on the scoresheet.

Tom Gonzales grabbed the consolation for Hailey.

After picking up their first point the previous weekend, Brize Norton made it two games without defeat as they held Stonesfield to a 3-3 draw.

Tom Green netted a double and Paul Penney also scored for the hosts, but goals from Dave Wanless, Dan Humm and Bartek Lachwitz earned Brize a share of the spoils.

A sensational double hat-trick from Sid Ashley helped Bampton United to a 9-0 home win over Kingham All Blacks in Division 2.

Ashley opened his account in style, with Ben Liddle scoring twice and Sammy Hancock also on target.

l Minster Lovell will not be joining fellow Witney & District FA sides Carterton Town A or Spartan Rangers in the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire FA John Fathers Junior Shield after going down 2-1 to Heyford Athletic.

Russ Whitlock scored Minster’s only goal in Saturday’s quarter-final.
