MINSTER Lovell were unable to close the gap on fellow strugglers Ducklington at the wrong end of Witney & District FA Premier Division, as they were held to a 1-1 home draw, writes ANTHONY BARLOW.

Eddy Dunn netted for bottom side Minster, but they were forced to share the points thanks to Jack Scott’s goal for the visitors.

Combe leapfrogged visiting Charlbury Town up to sixth with a 3-2 win.

Charlie Ibbotson, Matt Baker and Ethan Penney all scored for the home side, while Duncan Fitzgerald and Craig McCallum replied in vain for Charlbury.

A Paul Rose goal was enough to give Hanborough a 1-0 win away to Witney Royals, ending the home side’s sixgame unbeaten run in the process.

In Division 2, Minster Lovell Res had three players sent off during their 5-1 defeat at Witney Wanderers, with a fourth seeing red after the final whistle.

Mykel Ryan went after a foul in his own penalty area, with Cody Davies and Neil Crozier dismissed following a confrontation with the referee. Alex Coutts was then given his marching orders after the game had finished.

The hosts missed twice from the penalty spot, but still eased to victory thanks to a double from Ben Border and further goals from Bernie Crumlish, Stu Morrison and Josh Walkington. Jack Booth replied for Minster.

Omar Semlali and Charlie Harper scored to give Spartan Rangers Res a 2-1 win at home to Kingham All Blacks.

Jack Morton and Jason Lonsdale bagged a hat-trick each as Premier Division leaders Carterton Town A demolished Division 3 side Middle Barton 10-1 in the quarter-finals of the Fred Ford Cup.

Carl Williams struck twice, Liam Aspey netted and there was also an own goal, with Josh Hunt scoring the away side’s consolation.

Division 1 side Stonesfield narrowly edged out Tower Hill Stars, of Division 3, thanks to a double from Peter Searle and goals from Lloyd Belcher, Tim Wyatt and Sam Hart.

Kevin Davies registered twice for the hosts alongside goals from Will Graham and James Scott.
