A DEPLETED North Leigh came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Taunton Town in Division 1 South & West.

The Millers were without four crucial players – the suspended Stuart Hole, injured Callum McNish and Jamie Cook plus Aaron Woodley (work commitments).

Taunton’s main strike threat Jordan Rogers was on fire and his two first-half goals set the visitors a massive challenge.

His first goal after eight minutes came from close range, while Rogers made it 2-0 after 24 minutes following a slip by Jon Steedman.

With Dan James brought on in central defence at half-time, North Leigh put the hosts under pressure in the second half.

They pulled back a goal in the 58 minutes, when George Seacole’s header was deflected in off a home defender.

The Millers pressed for an equaliser which eventually came on 77 minutes when Morgan Williams headed home.

The point kept John Brough’s side in the pack behind runaway leaders Hereford United, who already look like they will be tough to stop.

League commitments are put to one side this weekend, though, as North Leigh turn their attention back to the Emirates FA Cup.

The reward for an excellent 3-2 win at Corinthian-Casuals earlier this month is a home tie with Weston-super-Mare.

The winners of the second qualifying round match will receive £4,500.
