NORTH Leigh booked their spot in the fourth qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history with an impressive 3-1 win over Folkestone Invicta.

Wayne Turk headed the home side in front and a brace from George Seacole either side of half-time sealed victory at Eynsham Park.

Carl Rook netted a late consolation for the Ryman League Premier Division visitors, but it could not dampen the celebrations at the final whistle.

Dominating from the off, the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West side could have taken the lead twice in the opening three minutes.

The tie was barely under way when Eric Odhiambo crossed for Seacole to head narrowly wide.

And two minutes later Seacole saw another headed effort booted off the line when Morgan Williams picked him out at the back post.

Rook went closest in a first half to forget for the visitors, seeing his powerful header somehow clawed out by goalkeeper Connor Thompson at full stretch.

But North Leigh finally edged in front on 37 minutes when Turk nodded home a Morgan Williams corner at the front post.

Just five minutes later, it was 2-0 as Elliott Osborne-Ricketts played in Seacole, who buried the ball in the far corner.

He could have netted again before the break, firing wide after a lovely passing move from Odhiambo and Jon Else.

Osborne-Ricketts missed a golden opportunity to put the match beyond Invicta ten minutes into the second half, seizing on a poor backpass and rounding the keeper before looping the ball over.

The visitors went straight up the other end and should have reduced the deficit, but Scott Heard blazed over with just the keeper to beat.

The Millers did get a third just after the hour mark, Lance Williams slipping the ball through to Seacole to calmly stroke home.

Folkestone pulled one back four minutes from time when Rook tapped home, but it was little more than a consolation.

The Millers are now just one match from the first round proper and make their debut in today’s fourth qualifying round draw.
