NORTH Leigh manager John Brough admitted he was disappointed at losing Bradley Gray to Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West promotion rivals Evesham United, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

The winger only signed for the Millers from Swindon Supermarine in October, with his spell at the club being cut short by the well-backed Worcestershire side’s interest.

“It’s a shame because he didn’t play as many games for us as we would have wished,” Brough said.

“They offered him a financial deal which he felt he couldn’t turn down.

“He’s a great player and it’s no surprise Evesham have come in for him and with the budget they have available there’s very little we can do about it.”

However, 19-year-old defender Jordan Lymn will remain with North Leigh for another month after extending his loan deal from Cheltenham Town.

The Millers lost ground on the top five last weekend when their trip to Shortwood United was postponed by a waterlogged pitch.

It meant they were unable to build on the 4-0 midweek win at Wantage Town.

Gray converted a Michael Hopkins corner to put the visitors ahead before the break.

Lymn, Lance Williams and George Seacole struck in the second half.

The Millers, who hosted Barnstaple Town last night, are back at Eynsham Park on Saturday.

Winchester City, just ahead of Brough’s side in the table, are the visitors.
