TOWER Hill Vixens enjoyed the opportunity of a lifetime at the FA People’s Cup.

The west Oxfordshire side, who play in the Oxford Mail Girls Under 13 Red League, finished in the middle of their group in the five-a-side tournament at Goals Reading.

But the girls also featured in the BBC’s Get Inspired documentary, as well as having the opportunity to meet England and Arsenal Ladies star Alex Scott.

Coach Paul Riley said: “It was a great experience.

“The girls enjoyed playing in the competition, testing themselves against teams from other counties.

“The highlight was meeting Alex Scott who unexpectedly turned up during one of our training sessions.

“The girls were amazed to be training alongside Alex and she gave them some great advice.”

Vixens recently won the Oxfordshire FA Under 14 futsal tournament and represented the county in the regional finals.

Their team consisted of Isabelle Riley, Emily Mumford, Lucia Scott, Sophie Harris, Charlotte Smith, Millie Bustin and Ruby Curtis.

Isabelle Riley said: “We will remember the advice from Alex Scott and we got stronger throughout the competition.”

Harris added: “It was great meeting Alex Scott and this experience has made me more determined to become a professional footballer.”

Paul Riley said he entered Vixens for the competition, because of the side’s successes this season.

He continued: “ The confidence the team gained, particularly beating older teams, made me think they would enjoy the experience of playing in the FA People’s Cup against teams from a different age group and counties.”
