MINSTER Lovell Reserves lifted the Witney & District FA’s Jack Busby Cup after defeating Hanborough Reserves 1-0 with a late strike in the final at Carterton, writes Anthony Barlow.

After a goalless first half, Minster dominated possession, with both Russ Whitlock and Aidan Foard hitting the woodwork.

With extra time looming, Luke Hessey’s cross was met by the head of Ben Jackson, who nodded home to clinch the trophy.

In the Premier Division, Hanborough moved three points clear at the top with a 4-1 win over Kirtlington.

Jack Morton grabbed a hat-trick, with Ian Steele also on target and Shane Probitts replying.

FC Hollybush remain the only team able to catch them as they edged out Minster Lovell 1-0, a Mike Duerden goal securing the points.

Combe look set for relegation after managing only a 1-1 draw with Chipping Norton Town.

Ian Law netted for Combe, with a Kieran Watts penalty earning a point for Chippy.

Spartan Rangers drew 3-3 against visitors Hailey.

Alfie Saunders, Tom Williams and John Clarke scored their goals, with Freddie Buckingham, Jack Wood and Luke Manning replying.

Carterton Town A beat Charlbury Town 4-2 as Sam Cairns hit a treble.

Martin Watroba netted the fourth, while Craig McCallum bagged a brace for Charlbury.

In Division 1, Aston remain in pole position after a 2-0 win over Milton, Ross Fleming and Sam Rowe on the scoresheet.

Tower Hill defeated Witney Royals 2-1, with Jack Holifield and James Harris finding the net.

Jamie Goodwin hit back for hosts Royals.

Moreton Rangers went four points clear at the top of Division 2 with a 3-1 win over Charlbury Town Res.

Javan Nurse (2) and Mark Boydell scored their goals, with Mark Clifton replying.

In Division 3, Corinthians moved up to second with a 5-1 win over Minster Lovell Res.

Frank Webb’s four-timer did the damage, with Harry Purfitt also on target. Gary Mitchell replied.

Carterton Town B were crowned Division 4 champions after a 4-0 win over Bletchingdon Res.

Dan Chillington, Noven Labor, Dave Wanless and Shay Lowthian scored the goals.
