FOOTBALL: Edwards sees red for Ducklington

Witney & District FA: Ducklington goalkeeper Ashley Edwards was sent off, but his side still managed to secure the points in a 2-1 Premier Division victory over Aston.

Mark Wright netted for Ducklington and Ben Sunblad replied as the first half finished level at 1-1.

Edwards then saw red for a foul in the penalty area, but his replacement, Martin Ferreira, saved the resulting spot-kick.

The ten-men than snatched the points as Stu Coutts fired home with ten minutes to go.

Reigning champions Freeland saw off Carterton 3-0.

Jason Footitt, Stuart Hole and Mark O'Brien were all on target.

Millpark chalked up their second victory as they defeated ten-man Hanborough 3-1.

Craig Johnson didn't help Hanborough's cause as he was dismissed for foul and abusive language.

The ten-men finally succumbed when Martin Latimer, Mike Dove and Paul Neale netted. Neil Rose grabbed Hanborough's goal.

The points were shared as FC Nomads drew 3-3 with West Witney.

Tony Knight, Simon Moffat and a long-range Mike Hole strike had given Nomads a 3-2 lead as the game moved into stoppage time.

But Matt Townsend arrived on cue in the dying seconds to equalise for West Witney, completing his hat-trick in the process.

Dan Knight grabbed all four of Brize Norton's goals as they defeated Spartan Rangers 4-1, Jamie Timms replying.

Charlbury Town battled back from a goal down to beat North Leigh A 3-1.

Pete Hutt fired North Leigh in front, but strikes from Martin Grimsley, Mark Dorey and Andy Woodley secured the points.

In Division 1, Dan Smith saw red as Minster Lovell lost 4-3 at Witney Royals.

He was sent off for two bookings, but Minster still had a chance to snatch a share of the spoils, missing a penalty in the dying moments.

Russell Plumb (2), Loyd Edwards and Dean Tredwell were on target for Royals, with Nathan Harris slamming a hat-trick for Minster.

With only seconds remaining, Minster were awarded a penalty, but Steve Verran saved Jed Riddy's spot-kick to secure the points.

Bampton Town cruised to a 5-0 victory over Hanborough Res.

There were five different goalscorers, with Steve Godfrey, Paul Sheppard, Andy Stock, Jon Shuker and Jon Goodwin on target.

Dan Kim bagged a brace as Cassington won 4-3 at Milton.

Ayanbah Khumalo and Adam Rackham were also on the mark, with Pete McKinee (2) and Phil Benfield replying.

Eynsham A lost 1-0 at West Witney Res, thanks to a Craig Aston strike.

Gary Atkinson and Chris Bennell were both on the scoresheet as Witney Wanderers ran out 2-0 winners against North Leigh B.

Despite taking a 2-0 lead, AC Finstock ended up on the wrong end of a 6-2 hammering against Kingham AB in Division 2.

Craig Mays netted twice for Finstock, but a Miles Harding hat-trick, plus strikes from Nick Hartley, Luke Herbert and Dale Lamb secured the points for Kingham.

Craig Halkett hit a superb four-timer as Spartan Rangers Res beat Tackley 7-3.

Chris Baker, Steve Williams and John Clarke scored the others for Spartan, with Dane Walker, Chris Betreen and Tony Wetherall replying.

Combe got off the mark with a 4-0 win against Charlbury Town Res.

Tom Sharpe struck twice, with Mike Gardner and Dan Sadler also on target.

Mark Jewell and Jon Smales both netted doubles as Brize Norton Res beat Fieldtown 7-1.

Carl Shepherd, Matt Noakes and Brad Marsden were also on the mark, with Ashley Bull replying.

Chippy Swifts and Minster Lovell Res fought out a 3-3 draw.

Chris Smith (2) and Lewis Stayt were on target for Minster, with Dan Scarsbrook and Warwick Thompkins among the goalscorers for Chippy.

Carterton A and Wootton Sports also shared the points in a 2-2 draw.

Harry Trethowan and Lee Marsden scored for Carterton, but Toby Warmishaw and Tom Gonzales earned a point for Wootton.
