Romain Grosjean is convinced Lotus will get it right after he and teammate Pastor Maldonado again finished out of the points in the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday.

Grosjean finished in 14th – two places behind Maldonado, meaning the Enstone-based team have only eight points to show for their efforts.

“Today hasn’t been easy,” said the Frenchman after the race.

“We had various issues during the race to add to our struggle for overall performance so it was a challenge.

“We stopped very early for soft tyres, but unfortunately we soon experienced graining from these which made it difficult for the rest of the race.

“In the past, the team has always managed to make a great comeback.

“It might be a bit of a big build-up this time, but I know that we will work hard and do all we can to fight back to wh-ere we want to be.”

Maldonado added: “For me in the car it was actually quite a good weekend.

“We finished the race, which is positive.

“Unfortunately, we had some brake issues from very early on, so I wasn’t able to fight others around me.

“I think Silverstone (July 6) will suit us much better.”

Chipping Norton’s Sean Walkinshaw took a seventh and a tenth place in the EuroFormula Open in Jerez, Spain at the weekend.

It was the Campos Racing driver’s first double points return of the season.
