Romain Grosjean says he can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of his Lotus when he competes in this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.

So far this season, Grosjean has gleaned 12 points for the Enstonebased team and he is hungry for more.

“In terms of performance we have achieved a one hundred percent record in reaching Q3 which is a very good result,” said Grosjean.

“We could have done more in the first two races had we not had a few issues.

“But I think that we got everything right from China onwards.

“It’s very good to be in the top ten in qualifying and then play with the strategy in the race.

“I’m happy with the points we have scored these last couple of races, let’s now get more at every race and continue to improve.”

Grosjean has a good record at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and is relishing the challenge.

He added: “It’s a circuit I’ve seen pretty often in my career so I know it well, and I have some good memories from the past.

“It was our best circuit last year, and I also finished fourth back in 2012 as well as setting the fastest lap.

“It is a circuit everyone knows backwards, so as a team we go to Barcelona intent on getting much more performance from the car.”

Grosjean said he was enjoying the season so far.

“It’s pretty exciting. We see some good races with us fighting hard in the pack,” said Grosjean.

“Up front we’ve seen some good dicing and Ferrari have shown that Mercedes is not invincible.”

Meanwhile, Chipping Norton-based Sean Walkinshaw Racing’s Zubair Hoque and Jordan Albert both took third places in round six of the BRDC Formula 4 Championship at Rockingham.

Hoque made the podium on the last race, while Albert enjoyed his success in race two.

Albert, who is seventh in the standings, was fifth in the first race, with Hoque, who is a place behind his rival, in ninth.

“It’s been a good weekend, it could have been better but it’s still good to get a couple of podiums and the pace shown by Jordan and Zubair has been great”, said team owner
