ROMAIN Grosjean emerged unscathed from crashing his Lotus at high speed during Sunday’s F1 Russian Grand Prix.
The Frenchman, who needed an early pit stop to replace his front wing after contact, hit the barriers and retired on lap 12.
There was better news for the Enstone-based team, with Pastor Maldonado finishing eighth.
While there was frustration over a missed opportunity at getting both cars in the points, Grosjean walked away with only minor injuries.
He said: “I feel sorry for the guys because there will be a lot of work to repair the car.
“I’ll certainly be a bit sore, but I’ll be completely fine again after a couple of days.”
The team head to Austin, Texas, for the United States Grand Prix next week.
- Witney schoolboy James Hall and co-driver Simon Bradley are in action this weekend for round seven of the British Junior F1000 Championship.
The 14-year-old will be competing in his Citroen C1 at Pembrey in south Wales.
