THE Chipping Norton-based SWR Formula 4 Championship team have signed up top South African kart-racer Eugene Denyssen for their 2016 campaign.
SWR originally tested Denyssen in late 2013 when he impressed the team.
With a strong title-winning karting pedigree, Denyssen graduated into cars in 2014 with South African Formula Ford.
But after a year on the racing sidelines, the 19-year-old is now preparing to return to the track with a move to the BRDC Formula 4 series.
“This is a very exciting and important step for my career, and I can’t wait to work with the guys at SWR,” the South African said.
“I’m not underestimating the size of the challenge, it’s a tough championship, but I’m sure we can have a strong year.”
Denyssen, from Somerset West, near Cape Town, began his karting career in 2009 in the Mini Max category.
Last year, he won the South African Open Championship.
