MOTORSPORT: Dew lands top drive for Renault
Bampton's Alex Dew has gained entry into the prestigious 2008 Elf Renault Clio Cup Championship.
The 22-year-old will be racing in the car that won the championship in 2007 and will be working with Solutions Racing, who will manage the team.
Dew has previously raced in the Stock Hatch Championships, securing nine podium finishes, including two victories.
In 2007, he was coached by World Touring Car ace Rob Huff, and this year, he will have additional coaching from Seat Cupra championship runner-up Carl Breeze.
Dew said: "I am delighted to be racing in this competition.
"It stands in the top level of British motorsport as the most prestigious and well-supported single-make championship.
"I am confident that we will put up a good fight in our first season in the Clio."
