MOTORSPORT: Powell's podium finish
Alice Powell, from Chipping Norton, secured a podium finish in the first weekend of the 2008 Ginetta Junior Championships at Brands Hatch on Sunday.
Powell started second on the grid, and battled hard throughout to finish third.
The race was won by George Richardson, who had qualified on pole.
The emergence of a safety car saw Powell drift back to fourth place, but she didn't stay there for long as she clawed her way back for the podium finish.
Rounds three and four of the championship will take place this weekend at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire.
