Antonio Conte is wary of Leicester and Jamie Vardy as Chelsea bid to reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

The Blues succeeded the Foxes as Premier League champions last season, in Conte’s first in charge.

And the FA Cup represents Chelsea’s final trophy chance following their midweek Champions League exit at Barcelona.

Asked if Chelsea would pay Vardy particular attention, Conte said: “Special plans? Special plans to try to defend well.

“For sure, we all know the characteristics about Vardy. He’s a clever player.

“He’s very good to attack the space, to find the right time to attack the space.

“Also (we must) pay attention to (Shinji) Okazaki.”

Chelsea drew 0-0 with Leicester in the Premier League in January.

Conte added: “I think we’re talking about a team that two years ago won the title. In the squad there are many players with good qualities, talented players.

“They want to fight a lot. In the game we played at home we suffered a lot. They put a lot of pressure, run a lot.

“Also they have players very dangerous. We must pay great attention for this risk.”

Chelsea reached the FA Cup final last term, losing to Arsenal, and Conte wants to go to Wembley once more.

“Every trophy is important for us,” he added.

“We started the season to try to fight until the end for every competition.

“In Carabao Cup we reached the semi-final, in Champions League the last 16. This is the FA Cup quarter-final. If we win we can play another semi-final at Wembley.

“We try to do our best in every competition. This must be our target.”
