SOUTHERN LEAGUE
A LACK of finishing ability for the second successive home game proved North Leigh’s undoing as they lost 1-0 to Larkhall Athletic in Division 1 South & West.
Larkhall took their one chance well and then shut up shop.
Morgan Williams went close for the Millers with a shot across goal that skimmed the far post.
However, moments later, home keeper Matt Bulman saved from striker Bradley Norris at point-blank range.
The Millers lost Elliott Osborne-Ricketts, who had been ill before the game, Andy Caton replacing him.
Before the break, Kieran Sanders twice, Callum McNish and Michael Hopkins all went close.
In the second half, Larkhall took the lead when Norris ran clear of the defence, drew Bulman and clipped the ball past him from ten yards.
The Millers piled on the pressure, but they could not find a way through.
North Leigh: Bulman, Turk, Matt Woodley, Osborne-Ricketts (Caton 28), Westlake, Hole (Eadle 82), Bowles, McNish, Williams, Sanders, Hopkins (Hughes 75).
Attendance: 98.
