North Leigh put on a disappointing display as they went down to a 1-0 defeat in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West on Saturday.

It brought to an end their six-match unbeaten run.

Missing defenders Stuart Hole and Michael Hopkins, the Millers got off to a slow start and paid the price when Supermarine scored the winner following a mistake from Matt Bulman.

The keeper caught a Bradley Gray cross, only to let it the ball slip from his grasp to Luke Hopper who slammed home from close range.

Two minutes later, the visitors thought they had levelled when a shot from Jon Else was parried onto the underside of the bar by ex-Millers keeper Sam Warrell, before bouncing down and appearing to go over the line.

However, referee William Bull ruled the ball had stayed in play.

The Millers started the second half better, but failed to make it count in a poor display.

The closest they came was a Jamie Cook free kick saved by Warrell.

Tonight, North Leigh have a chance to bounce back when they entertain Wimborne Town at Eynsham Park.

North Leigh: Bulman, Turk, Williams, Osborne-Ricketts, Gunn, Caton, Else (Bowles 75), McNish, Cook, Woodley (Westlake 79), Ingram (Sanders HT).

Attendance: 127.
